Terms of Service

Last updated May 6, 2026

By signing up, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English so you can actually read them. Heads up: section 9 (limitation of liability) is the part lawyers care about — we're real operators running a small community app, so it's worth understanding before you sign up.

1. Who can use myCB

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're using myCB on behalf of an organization (a CB radio club, a logistics company, etc.), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Pick something you don't use anywhere else. If your account is compromised, email support@mycbradio.org and we'll help.

Don't impersonate other operators, regulators, or public figures. Pick a handle that's yours.

3. Acceptable use

myCB is a community for CB radio operators. We expect operators to behave like operators on the air: be civil, don't broadcast spam, don't harass, don't share illegal content. Specifically:

  • No hate speech, harassment, or threats — including in chat, forum, or DX cluster spots.
  • No spam, no commercial broadcasting, no automated posting at a rate that exceeds normal human use.
  • No CSAM or content depicting minors. No illegal content.
  • No attempts to overload the SDR network, DDoS the API, scrape at scale, or bypass rate limits.
  • No misuse of the moderation system (false reports, evasion of bans).

We can warn, mute, or ban accounts at our discretion if we think the line was crossed. We aim to be fair; we won't always be.

4. Your content

Your logbook entries, chat messages, forum posts, DX spots, tips, and uploaded photos belong to you. By posting them on myCB, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display them as part of running the service. That license ends when you delete the content or your account.

If your content is publicly visible (forum, chat, DX cluster, on air), other users can see it. Don't post anything you wouldn't want a stranger to read.

5. Free tier and paid subscriptions

Most of myCB is free forever — listening, logbook, forum, profile, equipment, tips, and the DX cluster reader. A small set of features (ADIF export, blank logbook sheets, priority tip placement) require a paid subscription, processed by Stripe.

You can cancel anytime from the Support page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we don't prorate or refund partial months. If something went wrong on our end, email us — we're reasonable.

6. KiwiSDR audio

myCB lets you listen to public KiwiSDR receivers operated by amateur radio enthusiasts. We don't host that audio; we just connect you to the public KiwiSDR network. The receiver operators set their own usage rules and uptime; if a receiver goes offline or limits users, that's outside our control.

Each KiwiSDR has a limited number of simultaneous listeners. Be courteous — don't open multiple browser tabs to one receiver, and don't run automated tools that hold connections open indefinitely.

7. Service availability

We try to keep myCB running 24/7, but we don't promise zero downtime. We may pause the service for maintenance, fix bugs, or respond to security incidents. We'll tell you in advance when we can.

8. Termination

You can delete your account anytime — email support@mycbradio.org. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms or that endanger the platform or other users.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

myCB is provided "as is." We make no warranties — explicit or implied — about availability, fitness for any purpose, or accuracy of data (including solar / skip / propagation information, which is informational only and shouldn't be relied on for safety-critical decisions).

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of myCB is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (which, for free accounts, is zero). We're not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential losses.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Travis County, Texas. If any clause is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll bump the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, post a notice on the home page. Continued use of myCB after changes means you accept the updated terms.
