We're operators ourselves. We built myCB because the existing CB tools were either ad-stuffed, locked behind subscriptions, or collecting data we'd never want collected on us. So we wrote a short, plain-English policy. No surprises.
What we collect
When you sign up, we collect your email address and the handle, callsign, or unit number you choose. If you set a profile location, equipment, or photo, we store that too. Your logbook entries, chat messages, on-air activity, DX spots, and forum posts are associated with your account.
We log your IP address transiently for security and rate-limiting (banning spammers, blocking abuse). We do not maintain a long-term IP history.
What we do with it
We use your data to operate myCB — to log you in, render your logbook, deliver chat messages, and show you who's on the air. That's the entire purpose.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies. We do not train AI models on your logbook or messages.
Where it lives
myCB runs on Cloudflare's edge: account, logbook, and forum data live in a Cloudflare D1 database; presence and rate-limit counters live in Cloudflare KV; uploaded images live in Cloudflare R2. Cloudflare is our infrastructure provider and processes data on our behalf under their privacy policy.
Third parties we use
- Stripe — for processing donations and subscriptions. We never see your card details; Stripe handles payments under their own privacy policy.
- KiwiSDR network — when you click Listen, your browser connects directly to a public KiwiSDR receiver operated by an amateur radio enthusiast. We don't proxy that audio; we just publish the directory of public receivers and a beautiful interface on top.
- NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center — we fetch public solar / propagation data on our cron schedule and cache it. No user data is sent to NOAA.
Cookies & sessions
We set one cookie: an auth session token. It exists so you stay logged in. We don't use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no Hotjar, no anything.
Your rights
You can see, export, and delete your logbook (CSV / ADIF buttons on the logbook page). You can edit or wipe your profile. You can delete your account and all associated data — email support@mycbradio.org and we'll handle it within seven days. If you're in the EU/UK, GDPR applies; if you're in California, the CCPA applies. Both give you these rights — we honor them globally regardless.
Children
myCB is not for children under 13. If you're a parent and your child has an account, contact us and we'll close it.
Changes
If we update this policy materially, we'll note it on the home page and on this document's "Last updated" date. We won't retroactively change how previously-collected data is used.
